Twitter & die wunderschönen Verlierer: #LOFNOTC
Also, dieser Blog handelt hauptsächlich über die Macht von Twitter.
Wie die meisten von euch wissen bin ich von Twitter besessen und was man damit alles so machen kann. Ich bin nicht die einzige. trent reznor ist besessen, neil gaiman ist besessen.
Es besteht Ansteckungsgefahr.
Letzten Freitag hätte ich eigentlich meine Wohnung aufräumen sollen und meine E-Mails beantworten sollen, aber dann habe ich folgendes auf Twitter an meine Artgenossen, den Verlierern, die Freitagabends vor ihren Computer sitzen ( kurz LOFNOTC), geschrieben:

Eine Sache hat dann zur nächsten geführt, und dann waren wir plötzlich Tausende und wir wurden dann zum Gesprächsthema # 1 auf Twitter.
zoë keating hat es als “virtuelle Bande, die sich blitzartig verbreitet” bezeichnet.
Also, wenn man auf Twitter bei bestimmten Gesprächsthemen ein Rautenzeichen (#) hinzufügt ( falls ihr nicht wisst, wie Twitter funktioniert) kann man in die Twittercharts gelangen. Wenn ganz viele anfangen Sachen zu posten mit dem Rautenzeichen am Anfang, dann kann dieses Gesprächsthema in die Charts der meist diskutierten Themen auf Twitter aufsteigen. Es ist echt cool. Zum Beispiel, am Sonntag, als ich das anfangen habe zu schreiben, war das Nummer #1 Gesprächsthema auf Twitter (#1) das hier: #3turnoffwords .Und Leute haben dann solche Sachen gepostet:

Falls ihr immer noch nicht mit Twitter vertraut seid: man kann da schreiben was man gerade so macht. Jedes Update kann aber nicht mehr als 140 Wörter beinhalten und deshalb muss man sich sehr kurz fassen.
Wenn ihr die lange Diskussion am Ende meines Blogs lest und ihr seht einen Eintrag der mit @ beginnt (zum Beispiel @ifuckedyourmom) dann bedeutet das, dass ich auf eine Frage von @ifuckedyourmum antworte.
Wenn ihr irgendwo was mit “RT” lest, dann bedeutet das, dass jemand einen Satz von einem anderen kopiert hat und dann noch mal gepostet hat.
Zum Beispiel: xXHotsauceXx hat was weitergeleitet das @elixaday gesagt hat.

Jedenfalls, da waren wir dann alle Freitagabends auf Twitter.
Wir hingen stundenlang rum, wir haben eine Liste gemacht, die Dinge beinhaltete, die die Regierung für uns tun sollte; wir haben ein T-Shirt entworfen ( Gott sei Dank war sean noch wach, weil her hat die Webseite gemacht, WÄHREND wir auf Twitter gefeiert haben und Leute haben dann angefangen T-Shirts zu bestellen (die ich mit SHARPIE Filzstiften entworfen habe) und das Motto lautet: “DON’T STAND UP FOR WHAT’S RIGHT, STAY IN FOR WHAT’S WRONG” (Danke an emilyn brodsky).
Wir hatten alle zusammen eine Party im Internet. Zum Schluss haben wir dann alle unsere Gläser gehoben und auf die Macht der Verlierer von Freitagabend angestoßen und haben dann auf virtuelle Weise zusammen Wein getrunken ( MEIN Wein war jedenfalls echt. Und köstlich).
Oh du heilige Scheiße; das ist einfach nur klasse, dass man so was machen kann. Ihr könnt die ganze Entwicklungsgeschichte von #LOFNOTC am Ende des Blogs nachlesen. Am Ende der Nacht, wurde über unsere Diskussion auf Twitter auf verschieden Seiten berichtet (zum Beispiel auf supermaw) und ein paar prominente Verlierer haben sich uns auf Twitter angeschlossen ( bob lefsetz , wil wheaton … …einfach klasse. neil gaiman hat auch an unserer Diskussion teilgenommen: er zählt nicht mehr als prominent, weil er kann keine Forelle kochen).
Ich brauch’ euch wohl nicht sagen, dass ich weder meine Wohnung aufgeräumt habe noch habe ich irgendwelche anderen Sachen erledigt.
Ironischerweise, habe ich am nächsten Tag dann eine Party geschmissen.
Falls ihr ein T-Shirt haben wollt: es kostet $25(inklusive Versand WELTWEIT). Wir werden die T-Shirts in einer Woche drucken und sie werden ungefähr so aussehen:
Wir haben uns an EUCH gewandt, die #LOFNOTC Armee, um uns bei der Auswahl der Farbe für die T-Shirts zu helfen. HIER könnt ihr für eure Lieblingsfarbe abstimmen…. Momentan (5/22 8:50PM EST) ist die Farbe “schwarz” an der Spitze (falls ihr darüber was sagen wollt, dann stimmt jetzt ab).
Wir haben bereits 250 Stück über Twitter allein verkauft. Ich kann das kaum glauben. Jetzt habe ich genug Geld meine Miete zu bezahlen (und ich hab das echt gebraucht).
Wir haben den 100. Besteller ein paar AFP/Dolls CDs geschenkt und den 200. Besteller (frozentech) haben wir den berüchtigten Zettel, der in Wein getaucht wurde, geschenkt:
Für den 300.Besteller haben wir auch eine Überraschung parat: die original Zeichnung mit dem T-Shirt Logo ( vorne) und der 400.Besteller bekommt die Rückseite davon. Falls wir nicht auf so hohe Bestellungszahlen kommen, dann werde ich es an die Louvre versenden.
